Seven boy scouts from Chapel Hill, North Carolina were on the open road in Summer 2014 for the ultimate coming of age adventure. Departing from the Oregon coast, the high schoolers climbed the Cascades and Rockies, rolled across the Great Plains, traversed the Appalachians, and completed their odyssey on the North Carolina coast. All with no vehicle support! You can read about the boys and their transamerican journey at BikeLoud.org.
Along their 3,900 mile journey, the scouts promoted the need for teen and young adult cancer services while raising funds for the Be Loud! Sophie Foundation.
Having completed their 10 week ride in August, they decided they wanted to keep raising money for us. They have already exceeded their original goal of $19,500 (or $5/mile) and now want to be REALLY loud and raise $100,000 by the time they graduate from high school!
By now they have raised over $40,000. Please consider helping them reach their goal with one of the following per mile amounts:
1¢/mile = $39
2¢/mile = $78
3¢/mile = $117
4¢/mile = $156
5¢/mile = $195
10¢/mile = $390
Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated!
