I was out for a run (very unusual) and heading down Cameron towards campus when I spotted a small group of people on the sidewalk ahead. As I got closer, I saw bikes, two girls on their knees, and a mother standing looking down. What at first looked like another person lying on the ground turned out to be a backpack. Closer up, I saw one of the kneeling girls digging around in the backpack. Upon them now but still unsure of what was happening, I looked down to my right as I passed them and saw a huge tree trunk that had recently been cut to within inches of the ground. The girls, with their mother watching, were next to the trunk, on their knees with a tiny sapling, planting a replacement for the felled giant. Their inclination and action struck me as loud.
